15th week - scan tomorrow!
So - the long-awaited day of the scan is looming tomorrow! Exciting? yes. Nerve-wracking? Also yes! Simply because, having never been pregnant and thus never having had a scan, I’m not really sure what exactly to expect, other than what Hollywood has reliably informed me of!
But we shall see - all shall be revealed in T Minus 16-ish hours!
(eep!)
But also SO exciting, that I should, God-willing, be looking at the little one with my darling husband, and hearing or seeing their little heart beat…and, you know, discovering if there really are seven of them in there! :-)
Obviously, now that the baby is mainly developed, milestones are QUITE as exciting sounding as in that crucial development stage. However, I am told by my many sources that this is the week that…
- Baby’s tastebuds are developed, so in their amniotic fluid swallowing activities, they should be getting a bit of a taste of what I’m eating. Tonight’s meal was thai coconut curry, so I hope the poor little thing like spicy random veggie food! Apparently they swallow more the sweeter it tastes, too!
- Baby starts playing with the umbilical cord.
- Baby’s sex organs are now fully mature inside of them, although we may not find out the sex tomorrow - we shall see!
- Baby now should have eyebrows and eyelashes.
- Baby, whilst their skin still looking like a road map of blood vessels (even more-so than mummy’s!) is now starting to lay down fat stores.
- Baby is now roughly the size of a grapefruit!
Tomorrow, the pictures we see should, God-willing, resemble something of these…

See a video of a 15 week scan here.
So! Excellent stuff…please pray for us all three (or four, or nine!) tomorrow and God-willing the next picture on here may be a scan of my WOMB (mmm!).
Much love and God Bless!
