Wow…where does the time go?!
So I’m in the third trimester, the final countdown, the home run…and I totally cannot wait!
I just want to meet him! He’s already got such a little personality, and definitely takes after us both with more energy than is necessary and an awesome sense of humour.
He appears to be head down at the moment, which is very good in birthing terms,...

20 weeks - halfway through!
I can’t believe that suddenly, somehow, I’m writing about being halfway through this pregnancy. God willing, in another 20 weeks, we shall be meeting baby Stevenson for the first time!

A list!
This is, I think, a rather amusing list of things I have discovered so far that no one ever tells you about being pregnant…
Pregnancy magazines are doomed to repeat themselves, however none will tell you a sensible method of how to tie you shoes.
This is perhaps the only time in life when you will not drink at all and yet will frequently wake with a hangover after night-long...
15th week - scan tomorrow!
So - the long-awaited day of the scan is looming tomorrow! Exciting? yes. Nerve-wracking? Also yes! Simply because, having never been pregnant and thus never having had a scan, I’m not really sure what exactly to expect, other than what Hollywood has reliably informed me of!
But we shall see - all shall be revealed in T Minus 16-ish hours!

14 weeks!
Cutest thing discovered this week: The baby obviously has a little button nose this week, but the reason why it is upturned is so that they can breathe whilst breastfeeding! Isn’t that just an amazing example of God’s perfect design?

OK, so various books/sites disagree on whether this is the LAST week of the first trimester, or the FIRST week of the second trimester…details, details! To me, trimester is indicative of three months, and therefore 12 weeks would mark the end of the first three months…but it doesn’t matter anyway - what’s 7 days! Again, because of the various arguments, there is dispute as...

Happy 12 weeks little baby - God willing you are now equipped to survive the rest of your time in my womb and I pray we’ll get to meet you in a few short months (which I’m sure will fly by).
We have the date for our scan now - 2nd October (@ 15 weeks), and then the next midwife appointment which is 13th October (just shy of 17 weeks). The scan appointment was originally the week...

I cannot deny I am now getting really excited…God willing this baby is now firmly established and God will grant them to us as a little life to steward for some time.
So now the baby is the size of…a LARGE LIME! I mean, to me, this is quite unnerving that you can’t FEEL that! This being said, they do only weight roughly 8g, which is twice the weight of my wedding and engagement...

9 weeks 2 days - strawberry sized!
So baby is officially a foetus this week!
They should be the size of a strawberry, and now is growth spurt time as next week they should be around the size of a small plum! All of their major organs should be present in basic forms, and their heart should have all it’s chambers and be audible using a doppler…it beats at twice the speed of an adults!
Baby’s eyelids are now fused...

The last few days have marked the dawn of EXTREME hormones. This includes random, inexplicable blubber fests and the inability to stay awake!
